A bond that will address safety, district growth, and aging facilities was put before the voters and passed Tuesday night.
The bond for the district is $82.47 million and had more than 5,000 people vote on the issue. Of the voters, 63.64% (3,370) were in favor of the bond, while 36.36% (1,925) of the voters were against it. In other Williamson County races, Rhonda Redden, republican, defeated incumbent Stacy Hackenberg, democrat, for the Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 seat.
Redden received just over half of the votes with 54%. Hackenberg had 46% of the 45,000 voters in the county.
The seat for County Commissioner Precinct 4 still belongs to Russ Boles, who defeated Jose Orta. Boles, republican, won the race with 54% of the vote, while Orta, democrat, had 46%. A total of 45,578 voters cast a ballot in the race.
The Williamson County Judge race was close, however, incumbent Bill Gravell, republican, received 49% of the vote, and his opponent Blane Conklin, democrat, had 46%. Liberaltarian candidate Wes Benedict only received 3% of the vote.
Other election races Tuesday included the race for governor, which was won by incumbent Greg Abbott.
Abbott easily defeated challenger Beto O’Rourke with 55% (4,147,479) of the votes and O’Rourke had 43%, or 3,233,613 of the votes.
Texas District 34 of the House, won by Vincente Gonzalez, democrat, with 52.7% of the vote. His opponents Mayra Flores, republican, and Chris Royal, independent, had 44% and 3 % respectively.
Republican Dan Patrick was also re-elected over Mike Collier for Lt. Governor. Patrick brought in 54.5% of the vote, and Collier received 42.8%.
