HUTTO – As the temperatures start to get lower, a friendly reminder that the Hutto ISD Parent & Family Engagement team’s “Hippo Hangers” program has an immediate need for cold-weather clothing including coats, jackets, long-sleeved shirts, sweaters/sweatshirts, socks and pants. Clothes of all sizes are needed, but the biggest need is sizes for elementary children.

Hippo Hangers is a free service to Hutto ISD families in need, with referrals from campus counselors or Student Services Team Members. Each referred family will be able to set up an appointment to meet one of the Parent and Family Engagement team members at the Hutto Ninth Grade Center and select clothing from our Hippo Hangers room.

“We have had many generous donors, and we will continue to take new clothing donations throughout the school year,” said a press release on the Hutto ISD Facebook page.

New clothing can be dropped off at either of the two Hutto ISD Parent Resource Centers – Hutto High School Parent Resource Center/Contact Parent Support Specialist Stephen Balderas or Nadine Johnson Elementary Parent Resource Center/ Contact Gina Zook, Lead Parent Engagement Specialist). Stephen or Gina can be reached at: [email protected].
