A Taylor Middle School student was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 25, after the student was overheard threatening to commit a school shooting.
The student, a 13-year-old boy in the eighth grade, was charged with exhibition, use, or threat of exhibition or use of firearms after he made a direct threat in front of a school counselor, who reported the matter to school officials.
The threat was made at approximately 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25. The school resource officer was on duty at the time the student was discussing the plans, and the SRO was able to quickly investigate the criminal offense and effect an arrest of the student.
The student was arrested at 10:18 am. at the school.
The student was not found to be in possession of any weapons at the time of the arrest. The student was transported to the Williamson County Juvenile Detention Facility where he was booked and charged with exhibition, use or threat of exhibition or use of firearms, a class A misdemeanor.
