History and veterans' event at the Moody

Taylor’s first mayor and father of Governor Dan Moody will be recognized at the Moody Museum Sunday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. A state historical marker will be unveiled, giving details of his life in early Taylor history. Past living mayors of Taylor have been invited to join the event.

Taylor’s first mayor and father of Governor Dan Moody will be recognized at the Moody Museum Sunday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. A state historical marker will be unveiled, giving details of his life in early Taylor history. Past living mayors of Taylor have been invited to join the event.

Immediately following the unveiling, the annual Moody Museum Salute to Veterans will commence. A flag raising and speaker will be included.

Highlighted this year will be the lives of women in the armed services. All veterans are urged to exhibit shadow boxes containing their memorabilia. Shadow boxes can be loaned to veterans if needed by contacting City Hall, Carrie Orts at 512-365-3863.
