Granger Farmers Market

Fresh fruits, vegetables, jelly, canned and baked goods, eggs, artisan crafts and more will be at the Granger Main Street Farmers Market on the first and third Saturdays from April through October from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of W. Davilla and Walton streets in Granger.

Third Thursday

Every third Thursday of the month, Taylor’s downtown businesses will be open past 5 until 8 p.m. and offer in-store specials, live music, door prizes and other activities.

The event is designed to encourage residents to shop locally and become familiar with the shops in the downtown area.

SPJST Lodge 29 Taylor

Every Friday, SPJST Lodge 29 hosts live music and dancing and serves hamburgers at its hall at 5025 FM 619 in Taylor. Bands play from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Admission is free.

SPJST is a fraternal organization.

Residents can purchase life insurance, annuities or other items in order to become a member of the SPJST. The hall is open for business Wednesdays through Sundays from 3 to 10 p.m.

Senior Bingo

Enjoy Bingo with seniors every Wednesday at The Tripp Center, 1517 McLain St. near Mills Lane in Taylor, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. People are encouraged to bring one or two prizes.

Fall Fest Family Night

Wednesday, Oct. 26 — An evening of food, fun and fellowship is planned for later this month.

First Baptist Church of Taylor, 2500 Mallard Lane, will host a Fall Fest Family Night at 5 p.m. on Oct. 26. There will be a costume contest, prizes, interactive games and bounce houses. A dinner will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the community.

2022 Williamson County Fair & Rodeo Wednesday, Oct. 26-29 — Carnival rides, live music, food, animals, entertainment are just a taste of the many events scheduled for the 2022 Williamson County Fair and Rodeo at the Williamson County Expo Center, 5350 Bill Pickett Trail in Taylor.

The fair will kick off with a family night, sponsored by the YMCA, featuring free gate admission for families to the fairgrounds.

Nosferatu Movie Screening

Thursday, Oct. 27 — The Public Arts Advisory Board invites the public to a fright-filled evening as they show the classic movie Nosferatu with music featured during the film being played live by members of the Central Texas Philharmonic. The movie will begin at 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27 at Heritage Square Park. Attendees are encourage to bring lawn chairs, picnics and personal coolers.

Main Street Car Show

Saturday, Oct. 29 — Cars will be admired throughout downtown Taylor 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, along with vendors, food, music and more. For more information or to learn how to participate in the festival, call 512-352-3463 or visit http://www. taylortx.gov/959/main-street-carshow.

Halloween Spooktacular

Monday, Oct. 31 — The trick-ortreat event and costume contest will be at Heritage Square, 400 N.

Main St. in downtown Taylor, from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information, call the city’s Taylor Main Street department at 512-352-3463.

Thursday, Oct. 27 and Friday, Oct.

28 — Families in need of help this holiday season are encouraged to apply in person from 2:30 -4:30 p.m. on Oct. 27, and from 9 to 11 a.m on Oct. 28. at the Fire Department parking lot, 304 E. Third St.

Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis and only on the days listed. Please bring proof of residency, which includes a photocopy of your Driver’s License and a photocopy of a recent utility bill and have time for a short interview with a program manager to determine eligibility.

Coding a stronger future open house Wednesday, Nov. 2 — Come learn about how the proposed update to the City’s zoning and development standards will impact your property. This is a come and go open house to review the draft place types zoning map and development standards for the city of Taylor.

Come anytime between 1pm and 7pm to the Taylor Public Library, 801 Vance St.

Music on Main

Thursday, Nov. 17 — The music series concludes with Austin funk band Honey Made at 7 p.m. at Heritage Square Park. The event is free and family friendly. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets, chairs, and picnics to enjoy the show in the park.

Christmas Fair

Saturday, Dec. 3 — A fair of extra vendors and food offerings will be alongside the Heritage Square Farmers Market, 400 N. Main St. in downtown Taylor, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Christmas Parade

Saturday, Dec. 3 — A parade of lights and holiday spirit will be on Main Street starting at 7 p.m. and end in downtown Taylor.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Saturday, Dec. 3 — After a 7 p.m. Christmas parade concludes, there will be a city tree lighting ceremony at Heritage Square.

Christmas potluck

Saturday, Dec. 10 — The Davilla community, located northeast of Williamson County, will host the event at 6 p.m. at the Davilla Community Center at 20803 FM 487 in Davilla For more information, call Inky Tatum at 254-721-2922.
