Businesswomen donate to Honor Guard Academy

The Taylor Fire Department Honor Guard Academy was held Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Williamson County Expo Center.

The Taylor Fire Department Honor Guard Academy was held Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Williamson County Expo Center.

Several Taylor Area Businesswoman have attended and donated the meal for this for several years now.

The National Honor Guard began as a way for Taylor Fire Department member and other local department personnel to learn the trades involved with the Honor Guard activities. It has since evolved and now is attended by firefighters, police and emergency medical personnel from across the state as a way to learn how best to represent the emergency services. Details such as flag etiquette and funeral activities are honed during this event. The Taylor Honor Guard members have an oath that they take upon joining that in the event of a line-of-duty death, within the State of Texas the Taylor Honor Guard will be there. The Taylor Honor Guard is there for the fallen.
