St. Mary’s Catholic School had some special guests earlier this week. Firefighters Trent Pokorny, Colton Brock and Aaron Harralson from the Taylor Fire Department came to teach the students about fire safety.

PK3-fourth graders enjoyed learning about what a firefighter wears when fighting a fire and all the different tools housed on the fire truck that are used when they are called to a fire.

The students were given the chance to climb through the front of the truck and asked many questions about what different things were used for.

The firefighters encouraged the St. Mary’s students to talk to their parents about an escape plan in case of a fire and to call 9-1-1 in case of any emergency.
