The original lovers

“Deliberately Diverse” represents the individual thoughts and opinions of a group of Taylor friends who almost never completely agree about anything but are gratified by the opportunity to stimulate deliberately diverse discussions in our beloved community.

Today’s column represents the thoughts and opinions of Judith Pyeatt Grissom and not the Taylor Press.

A recent visit to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in beautiful Arkansas gave rise to thoughts on Genesis, our beginnings, and the many ways the creative process can forge bridges that bring us forward, that bring out the best of God’s Creation, solving problems of our own doing. One artist’s work, Alma Thomas, used color and mosaic style which struck me as illustrating the uniqueness in which we are made: each brushstroke and each color a different piece of the perfection and totality of God’s work. When the first manned spacecraft landed on the moon, Alma looked up into the heavens and had simultaneous thoughts of that vast beauty being so much like her own beautiful garden, surrounded by a mosaic of rocks and color. She experienced at the same time hope, that one day people of her color would fly as well. She later said she never dreamed that one day her creations would hang in the same museums where once she was denied entry.

Have you ever done a great jigsaw puzzle and one of the pieces (or more) is lost? That is our world.

We can still save it, hopefully, and save each other in the process. We can still live our way to Their Love, being sons and daughters of The Original Lovers, and we must, if we, and this world we have been given, are to survive. Pray we have peace and choose with God’s love.

In the Beginning God and Spirit, inhabited the heavens together The Original Lovers yet experiencing loneliness, desire, and yearning for more, moved upon the expanse and Created Filling the abyss in their own likeness Their Dreaming becoming Imagining finding Joy in the consideration, Deliberating, communication became Design A creation of Creatives.

All their conceptions had this gift: Sun, Moon, Waters, Earth, and Inhabitants all dwelling within, so blessed. Some were like angels,

and formed Companions as well In God and Spirit’s image, Freethinking, Possessing the ability of Choice conceived in indescribable Beauty. Yet the course of our action too soon became Selfish Lacking Love, each thinking themself to be God’s greatest creation.

This inspiration was evil; Rebels with no understanding that Love must encompass The Other; Love must be mindful of all creation, or fall. And Love was God and Spirit’s most important consideration For without Love, creation was empty and soulless in deeds.

Still there is no Understanding Creation is as delicate and fragile As fetus in the womb We wait to be birthed Though the labor is intense, painful, difficult, long We only live By Love.

By Sacrifice By deep spiritual and mystical Understanding: We do not find Love by war or gun. Do you know that the meaning of “heretic” is “free thinking”? We can still live our way to Love, the Greatest Creation of The Original Lovers.
