HUTTO – The Hutto Halloween House & Business Decorating Contest is now easier than ever to enter. The Hutto Parks and Recreation Department has waived the small fee to enter the contest.
Be sure to register your business or house no later than Saturday, Oct. 22.
This first contest is expected to raise spirits and get the community involved.
Judges will award prizes for the:
• Most scary
• Most orange and black
• Best of use motion/ animation
• Best commercial/businesses storefront, windows, or entrance Judging will be on curb appeal as viewed from the street. Only those decorations located on the streetside of the property will be judged. Corner lots may be judged from both streets.
Judging will be done by volunteers and staff from the Parks Advisory Board.
All decorations must be in compliance with city codes and any Homeowners Associations rules.
Winners will be announced at Hutto’s Frights at Fritz family-friendly event, Saturday, Oct. 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fritz Park, followed by a social media post that evening.
