HUTTO – October is National Bullying Prevention Month. During October, students, schools and communities all over the world unite to “STOMP Out Bullying.”

STOMP Out Bullying is the leading national anti-bullying and cyberbullying organization for kids and teens in the U.S. A pioneer on the issue, STOMP Out Bullying is the most influential anti-bullying and cyberbullying organization in the country and beyond.

Have a conversation as a family about taking a stand in solidarity with those who experience bullying in all its ways, whether cyberbullying, hatred, discrimination, racism, cruelty, or exclusion, making it the day that bullying prevention is heard around the world. Hutto ISD hopes to teach students that as a bystander they need to speak up and not accept bullying as normal.

Hutto ISD is offering a virtual parent/caregiver informational presentation “Empowering Youth: Internet Safety for Caregivers” – Oct. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. through zoom. This virtual presentation helps caregivers navigate tricky conversations with youth about establishing healthy relationships and boundaries while they are online.

For more information, visit the Hutto ISD Facebook page.

STOMP Out Bullying is dedicated to changing the culture for all students. It works to reduce and prevent bullying, cyberbullying, and other digital abuse, educates against homophobia, LGBTQ+ discrimination, racism and hatred, and deters violence in schools, online and in communities across the country. In this diverse world, STOMP Out Bullying promotes civility, inclusion and equality. It teaches effective solutions on how to respond to all forms of bullying, as well as educating kids and teens in school and online. It provides help for those in need and at risk of suicide, and raises awareness through peer mentoring programs in schools, public service announcements by noted celebrities, and social media campaigns.
