Taylor City officials are urging citizens to practice a home fire escape plan and check their smoke detectors for Fire Prevention Week, October 9-15, 2022. This week has been observed the Sunday through Saturday period in which October 9th falls since 1925.
According to the National Fire Protection Association, “Home fires caused 2,580 civilian deaths in the United States in 2020, and fire departments in the United States responded to 356,500 home fires.”
