O.L. Price Prior to the game, Taylor ISD will recognize the 60-year anniversary of the O.L. Price football state championship team. This all-Black school existed in Taylor prior to integration and the accomplishments of these former students are part of the city’ history.
In 1962, the O.L. Price Panthers went undefeated with wins that included seven shutouts and only two teams came within a touchdown. The team only allowed 70 points over the 14-game season. All of the games were played on the road except the state title game, which the Panthers won 42-6 over Dalton Colbert at Memorial Field in Taylor.
