Domestic and Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

WILCO – The Williamson County Domestic Assault Response Team (D.A.R.T.) is partnering with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and Hope Alliance, Williamson County’s only resource center and emergency shelter for those affected by family and sexual violence, to raise awareness regarding the issue of domestic and teen dating violence in our local communities. Last week, Williamson County Commissioners Court issued a proclamation designating October as Domestic and Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month in Williamson County.

Last year, Hope Alliance provided direct services to 13,739 victims from Williamson County. Hope Alliance provided a total of 3,178 hotline calls, 446 online chat requests, served 1,086 clients other than calls or chats, served 949 survivors of domestic violence, responded to 1,671 hotline calls from survivors of or about domestic violence and 196 spent time in the shelter.
