Johnnie Mae Peterson

Johnnie Mae Peterson, 80, went to be with her Heavenly Father Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022. Johnnie Mae was born March 15, 1942, in Taylor, to John Frank and Ella Jean Bartek, along with her twin sister Joyce Ann. She grew up in Taylor and was proud to be a Taylor Duck. She was married to the love her life, Richard D. Peterson for 41 years. Johnnie Mae was extremely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She was a kind and compassionate lady, who was the life of the party.

She was a kind and compassionate lady, who was the life of the party.

Johnnie Mae loved telling family stories from long ago and sharing her baked goods with everyone. She also loved her plants and being outside in the yard. She could look at a flower and it would grow. Johnnie Mae enjoyed baking, cooking, shopping, traveling, decorating for the holidays and spending time with family. Johnnie Mae was an amazing lady and will be missed by many.

Johnnie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; sister, Joyce Ann Sivils; and parents, John Frank and Ella Jean Bartek.

Johnnie Mae is survived by her loving and caring daughter, Jeanie Weiss (Mike) of Houston; granddaughter, Marissa Weiss of Houston; grandson, Matthew Weiss of Houston; and great-granddaughter, Aerowyn Weiss of Houston. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be planned for some time in the spring.
