David Wayne Morris, 74, of Taylor, went to be with his Heavenly Father Jan. 23, 2022. David was born Nov. 30, 1947, in Lampasas, to Willace John and Dorothy Leora (Nord) Morris.
He met the love of his life, Suzanne Andrea (Swenson) Morris, through a church youth group in Hutto. They married Sept. 2, 1967. He attended Round
He attended Round Rock High School and graduated from Hutto High School. David served two years in the ROTC at Tarleton State University and then went on to graduate from Texas A&M in 1970. After graduation,
After graduation, he worked with youth in 4H as a County Extension Agent. Throughout his life, David was in the agriculture field. He found joy in rebuilding and painting tractors.
David especially loved his last occupation as a bus driver for Taylor ISD, where he served faithfully driving students to school, field trips and sporting events.
Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to David, and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family.
David liked coaching his children’s sports teams, and helping with boy and girl scout activities throughout their childhood. Pop could be found at all of his grandchildren’s events. He was a dedicated
He was a dedicated Fightin’ Texas Aggie and Taylor Duck fan. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, and traveling with his family, especially both trips to Disney World this past year. David was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Taylor and served the Lord all of his life, including driving around the Primetimers.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Suzanne and children, Renee Schneider (Chris), Nicole Oman (Rick Cobia), Hannah Tate (Patrick), Andrew Morris (Stephanie Rohlack) and Matthew Morris (Paige). He is also survived by his brother Charles Morris (Ellen), sister Nancy Johnson (Eric), sister-in-law Dianne Robbins (Larry), and numerous nieces and nephews. Pop was proud of his grandchildren Josh (Dalani), Ryan (Ashley), Michael and Luke Schneider; Kelbie (Katelyn) and Mason Stifflemire (Lauryn Leftwich), Marshall (Laney Martinez) and Thomas Oman; Meredith, Harrison, and Caroline Tate; Zoe, Logan, and Callie Morris and Amelia Cotterill; and Madison, Lyla, and Tanner Morris; and his greatgrandchildren, Alexis, Oaklyn, and Alice.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. A celebration of life service will be Friday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church youth camp scholarship fund.
