Fashion fundraiser brings in close to $10K
Men put on their best dresses and walked the runway for close to $10,000.
On Saturday, Aug. 27, the Dudes as Dames pageant was held at the S.P.J.S.T. Hall to support Cinderella’s Closet.
The event featured 22 men modeling prom dresses, some in heels, and walking the runway for dollars.
“We are blessed and humbled that even in spite of a difficult economy, businesses in Taylor and surrounding communities dug deep into their pockets to sponsor and donate to Dudes as Dames 2022, to help Cinderella’s Closet,” said Patrice Dempsey of Cinderella’s Closet. “Thank you to them and to the neighbors who came out to cheer on their favorite contestant. A good time was had by all.”
According to Dempsey, there were 19 sponsors and 10 partners and donors for the
event. The winner, Miss Bad Decision Bambi, was sponsored by Cheryl Webster, owner of Advance Home Solutions and Noren Thermal Solutions.
Bambi received his crown from last year’s winner Miss Communication, Robert Garcia.
