Annette Pokorny Kropp, of Taylor, joined our Heavenly Father Friday, Aug. 19, 2022.

She was born July 11, 1943, the middle daughter of Julius and Anna Pokorny. Annette graduated from Pflugerville High School and worked for the state of Texas. She was later a devoted mother and homemaker. After raising her daughters, she enjoyed her work family at the IRS. Annette married her beloved husband, Ray L. Kropp Dec. 21, 1972.

Annette was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Assumption Church.

Spending time with her family was always priority. Annette enjoyed hosting family gatherings and cooking big dinners.

Annette was lovingly known as “Grammy” by her grandchildren as they were the center of her life. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to parks, bounce houses, and generally spoiling them. Annette enjoyed traveling with family and friends.

There are no words to describe Annette’s generous nature as she put others’ needs above her own. Her sense of humor and laughter was contagious.

Annette was truly the backbone of her family as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents, sister, Barbara Sablatura and husband Jake; brother, Julius Pokorny, Jr.; and her brothers-in-law, AJ Kropp, Roy Kropp and Joe and wife Ella Kropp.

Annette is survived by her daughters, Kimberly and husband Sidney Cox, and Kerri and husband Bryan Hendrickson; grandchildren, Jordan and Blake Cox, Savannah, Brody, Bryson and Landon Hendrickson. Annette is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy and husband Clifford Tomancak and Joyce and husband William Kemmerer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life Mass was held Friday, August 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Assumption Church.

Burial followed at Taylor City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Sidney Cox, Blake Cox, Bryan Hendrickson, Jason Tomancak, Brian Heitzman, and Clifford Tomancak, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church or to St.

Anne’s Altar Society.
