One day a delivery girl dropped off two packages at a house. Near the front door, there was a sign that said, “For package person.” The sign was on a large tablet with instructions for the delivery person.
The next page said the homeowner’s son was on his way back from school. It was his birthday, but his parent works two jobs and could not be there when he got home.
The child’s parent left $200 under the doormat. One of the packages was his gift and the other was a Mickey Mouse suit.
The note asked if Mickey Mouse could give the boy his birthday gift?
What happened next was amazing.
The delivery girl took the suit out of the box and put it on, then waited for the boy to come home.
When he arrived, he was so happy to see Mickey Mouse at his front door holding his gift.
“It’s your birthday and I have a special gift for you,” she said to the young boy. She hugged him and then wished him a great birthday.
“That just made my day,” the delivery girl said as she put the suit back in the box and left the house.
This story is one of a random act of kindness that can highlight a person’s day.
