Hanging close the entire game, the junior varsity Ducks came up just short in the final quarter as they fell to the Gateway College Prep JV Gators squad last Friday, 46-40.
After three-quarters of play, the Ducks trailed by just six 33-27. At the 3:46 mark of the fourth, the JV Gators squad had opened up their lead against the Ducks to 13 with a 40-27 lead.
A 13-6 run by the Ducks in the fourth came up short as the gators came away with the win.
Shaivion Warren led the Ducks with 16 points. Antonio Torres added 14 points. Hayden St. Clair added five points and Connor Watson had four points against the Gators.
The JV Ducks were back in action at 5 p.m. as they traveled to face Salado. Friday, Jan. 28 the team will be in action at Jarrell.
