Padavil speaks to Taylor Area Businesswomen

Meeting minutes and treasures reports were read an approved.

Their “Giving Back to the Community” project for the quarter was the Taylor senior citizens. Items were collected for the seniors’ bingo and domino games. President Charlotte Albert met with the Coordinator Dorothy Fisher, to present the items.

Speaker for the month was Devin Padavil, superintendent of Taylor ISD. He answered questions and spoke to the organization about growth, safety, recruiting and retaining staff. He gave members information about the Taylor ISD recommended bond projects, current projects in place within the district and future plans and needs for Taylor ISD.

Mackenzie Watson, a Taylor High School student, attended the meeting to thank TAB for a scholarship. The scholarship allowed Watson to attend Girl’s State, sponsored by the American Legion. Watson shared her experience at Girl’s State.

Door prizes were drawn, and birthdays were announced.

The Taylor Area Businesswomen’s luncheon meetings are held at noon on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Gatti’s Pizza, 2708 N. Main St. in Taylor.

All current, former and interested businesswomen are invited to attend. Meals are $10.

Tell Gatti’s at the door you are with TAB and pay treasurer, Sherry Alford in the meeting room. The next meeting will be held Aug. 23.
