A local official has a new credential on his resume.

Matt Wojnowski, Hutto assistant city manager, recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). Hutto’s municipal government says the prestigious designation will further enhance his ability to lead Hutto staff and serve Hutto taxpayers.

“The ICMA credentialed manager is one of the premiere credentials in the field of public administration” shared Hutto City Manager James Earp, “and I am proud that Matt brings that accomplishment to team Hutto.”

Only one in every 20 members of ICMA have earned this credential. To receive the recognition, Wojnowski had to build significant experience as a senior management executive in local government, earn a Master’s degree in public administration, and demonstrate a commitment to high standards of integrity as well as to lifelong learning and professional development.

Hutto staff says the achievement is in line with the city’s goal of “Collaboration for Operational Excellence and Efficiency.”

Before being hired in Hutto last summer, Wojnowski served as Del Rio city manager and in roles of assistant city manager or assistant to the city manager in other communities. He has also contributed to organizations such as ICMA, Texas City Manager Association, City Manager Association of Oklahoma, Kiwanis International and Rotary International.
