People from Czech families are asked to attend a meeting to preserve their Czech heritage and ancestry. Travis-Williamson Counties Czech Heritage Society will meet Sunday, Aug.
21, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Springhill Catfish Restaurant, 2505 W Pecan St. in Pflugerville.
The Society will present a $500 scholarship award to a Jarrell Hugh school senior. The group will also discuss plans for the future and how to build up membership and funds.
Eating is optional, but the restaurant has a buffet 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and a special senior deal starting at 2 p.m.
Dues are $16 and can be paid at the meeting or mailed to Julia Johnson, 804 Monterrey Pl., Austin, TX 78753.
