As Taylor appears headed toward rapid growth, one of the central people along for the ride will make a pit stop to chat.

The ninth episode of the Taylor Press video interview series with city of Taylor staff, “Taylor Talk with Jason Hennington,” will be Monday, Aug. 8, at noon on the Taylor Press Facebook page. Tom Yantis, Taylor director of development services, is the planned guest.

Yantis has worked for the city since September 2018. As the Director of Development Services, he oversees building inspection, code enforcement, current and long-range planning, the Main Street Program, demographic monitoring and geographic information systems, assists with housing and community redevelopment efforts, assists with economic development projects, and the Moody Museum.

The director serves on multiple committees for the Texas City Management Association. Yantis also served on the Congress for the New Urbanism and the National Town Builders Association.

There have been eight episodes of Taylor Talk thus far. Officials have discussed their work, upcoming projects, parts about their life and ways their departments connect to the community.

To submit questions, email [email protected].

The show is scheduled to broadcast on the second Monday of every month at noon. The show complements the Taylor Press’ other live show, “Around the Watercooler,” which airs at 11:15 a.m. Thursdays and primarily covers local sports along with other topics.
