Jane Longino Stover was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Texarkana, Arkansas, and peacefully passed away at the age of 92 Aug. 4, 2022, in her home.

As the youngest child to Dr. Hugh Longino and Eloise Brummett Longino, Jane delighted in time spent going to the family farm to catch fish and ride horses with her brothers.

She was an exceptional pianist and played well into late adulthood.

Following her childhood, Jane graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1951 with a BS in Home Economics. During her time at U of A, she led the Pi Phi sorority as their president and was actively involved in social engagements.

Jane married Charles Edward Stover Feb. 29, 1954, upon completion of her degree and successfully raised three children, eventually settling in Taylor. Charles and Jane were married for 62 years until his passing in 2016.

Jane held a longstanding career as a teacher instructing seventh grade science at Taylor Middle School. She was frequently reminded of her accomplishments by adoring students who stopped to talk with her about how positively she influenced their school experience and received updates on their lives.

In her later years, Jane enjoyed spending time with her family at the lake house on Lake LBJ and exploring Colorado.

She was an incredible seamstress and excelled in making costumes for both her children and grandchildren. Additionally, Jane was an avid gardener with a green thumb and a particular affinity for sunflowers and tomatoes. Jane was known for her homecooked meals. She frequently cooked with her grandchildren or baked desserts to share with her close circle of friends while enjoying a weekly game of bridge.

Jane was quick witted, headstrong and steadfast in her approach to life, including a strong faith in the Lord. She had a strong bond with her family and will be fiercely missed. Her loving memory will be remembered as the memories and stories of her are passed on to future generations.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Charles (Bo) Stover, Jr. and wife Debbie, Ellen Repa and husband Charles, Nancy Patschke and husband Tony. Additionally, Jane is survived by her grandchildren, Adam Stover and wife Lauren, Luke Stover and wife Mallory, Lauren Dickman and husband Cory, Michael Repa, Nick Patschke and Abby Patschke; as well as her great-grandchildren, Layla Stover, LJ Stover, Sienna Stover and soon to arrive great-grandson.

Special thanks to our caregivers, Theresa Garrod and Jessica Bass, who gave Jane such kind and compassionate care over the last five years.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Cremation services provided by Providence Funeral Home.
