On July 29, Hutto moved to Stage 3 water conservation restrictions as defined by Hutto city ordinance, to stay in compliance with water provider contracts.

The restrictions apply to all Hutto municipal government water customers within the city limits and the Hutto extraterritorial jurisdiction, including residential, commercial, industrial and institutional properties. City of Hutto water customers must follow Stage 3 restrictions for outdoor watering as follows:

• even number addresses may water outdoors only on Sundays and Thursdays; and

• odd number addresses may water outdoors only on Saturdays and Wednesdays

The following outdoor watering activities can only occur before 6 a.m. or after 8 p.m. on designated days:

• use of automated irrigation systems

• watering by hand-held hose, drip irrigation, or faucet-filled bucket or watering can;

• filling of swimming pools;

• washing of vehicles, although commercial carwash facilities are exempt if they use water recycling systems

Every day, these restrictions apply to all residents:

• Hose-end sprinklers can no longer be used;

• Restaurants cannot serve water unless requested by patron;

• Fountains and aesthetic pond-water features cannot be operated;

• Water cannot be used to wash down buildings, driveways, sidewalks and hardsurface areas; and

• Water cannot be used for dust control and gutter flushing .

Properties that use private well water are exempt from these restrictions, such as The Co-Op District, Hutto City Hall and the Hutto Riverwalk soccer fields.
