Louisiana native Evan Hale will be taking over the role of sportswriter at the Taylor Press newspaper.
Hale, originally from Scott, Louisiana, a small town outside of Lafayette graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May 2022 with a degree in journalism.
Prior to joining the Taylor Press, Hale worked for The Acadiana Advocate, a newspaper in Lafayette, covering high schools from Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Hale also work at The Vermillion, the school paper for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as a columnist writing about different topics and events that pertained to the campus.
“I cannot wait to get started this coming football season and look forward to getting to know people in the community and doing the best I can to make sure these athletes get the recognition they deserve,” said Hale.
Hale takes over fully covering Taylor Press sports starting July 29.
