Headstones are on their way to getting a facelift.
Taylor’s municipal government announced this week it is starting the first phase of the Headstone Leveling Project. Some headstones will be leveled at the City of Taylor Cemetery Saturday, July 30.
Saturday’s repairs will be located in Blocks 8-9 in the First Addition.
The goal of the project is to use designated funds every year to repair and level headstones in the city cemetery. Early focus will be in the cemetery’s oldest section where repairs are deemed more heavily needed. The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 13.
