Three local incumbents have recently filed for the upcoming elections. Gerald Anderson and Robert Garcia with the city and Marco Ortiz at Taylor ISD recently filed.
At the city, terms set to expire in May are District 1 and District 4. Currently, the District 1 seat is held by Mayor Pro Tem Gerald
Anderson, and the District 4 seat belongs to Robert Garcia with the city.
For the school board, three seats are set to expire in May. Place 4, one of those seats, is currently held by Board President Marco Ortiz.
Last Wednesday, Jan. 19, local filing period to submit an application for a place on the ballot for upcoming elections opened and will remain open until Thursday, Feb. 18.
The city of Taylor will hold a general election for city and school officials on Saturday, May 7. Early voting opens April 25-29 and again May 2-3.
