Linda Jane Pavlasek Grigsby, 69, of Bartlett, passed away on July 15, 2022.
Linda was born Nov. 20, 1952, at John’s Hospital in Taylor, to the late John and Germilla (Jimmie) Pavlasek.
Linda was the middle child of three girls. She adored her big sister Irene and younger sister Patsy, growing up in a farming community, and having a farmer as a dad. She and her two sisters were put to work to help their dad and mom sustain their family farm. From chopping in the fields, to butchering pigs, Linda was there helping her family. Family was so very important to her.
Linda attended parochial school in Granger until the eighth grade. Linda took comfort in knowing her daddy was driving her on the school bus every day for school was not her favorite thing.
After eighth grade, she attended Bartlett High School and graduated in 1971. She married Don White Grigsby Sept. 23, 1972. They would have been married for 50 years this September.
Linda worked as a desk person in the orthopedic departmen at Scott and White for 40 years before she retired in 2012.
She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandbabies, listening to polka music, and simply just sitting outside enjoying the outdoors.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Germilla (Jimmie) Pavlasek; and her mother-in-law, Effie Lou Grigsby.
Linda is survived by her husband, Don Grigsby; children, Brandon Grigsby and Amy Martinka (Phillip); sisters, Irene Cavanaugh (Joe) and Patsy Hightower (Jim); grandchildren, Aydon and Kyle Grigsby (Brandon), Emma and Abigail Martinka (Amy); brothers-in-law, Robert Grigsby and Larry Grigsby (Linda); sister-in-law, Mary Grigsby (Mike); nephews, Kevin Cavanaugh and Lance Grigsby (Amy); nieces, Lori Kreitner (Keith) and Heidi Cooper (Brad); great nieces, Kailey and Kaycee Cavanaugh and Addison Cooper; and great nephews, Cameron Cavanaugh, Compton and Alden Grigsby and Keith Kreitner; and numerous aunts and cousins who she loved dearly.
A rosary will be held Wednesday July 27, at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass to follow at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial of ashes will be held at Bartlett City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you consider making a memorial donation in Linda’s name to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Corn Hill.
