The Friends of the Taylor Public Library have elected new officers for the next year.
Leading the organization are Maria Newman, president; Lois Duncan, vice president; Ann Wentrcek, treasurer; and Robin McKinley, secretary.
The Friends of the Taylor Public Library is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the interest and welfare of the library as a cultural and educational asset to the city of Taylor and it’s neighboring communities. The organization meets monthly and works in conjunction with the officers and library staff to acquaint the community with the programs and asset of the library to the greater community.
The Friends assist with the needs of the library and help improve facilities. With financial help from the Friends, the library coordinates a wellattended summer reading program with many paid performers who delight the children.
Many other yearround programs are available to families, children and adults to encourage reading and a lifelong appreciation of the library. All are welcome to join the Friends and participate in programs such as the Plant Swap.
Many other programs throughout the year need volunteers such as holiday parties, the Truck Petting Zoo, and the summer ice cream social.
