Hottest temperature recorded in Taylor since 2018

Summer heat isn’t going away anytime soon, but residents might be able to step outside without worrying about melting for a few days. Taylor’s weather forecast indicates a brief break from 100-degree temperatures.

Summer heat isn’t going away anytime soon, but residents might be able to step outside without worrying about melting for a few days.

Taylor’s weather forecast indicates a brief break from 100-degree temperatures. The city and surrounding area were in triple digits for more than a week.

“Finally, a cooler day with highs in the 90s,” said the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio Office July 15, before advising of the possible shortlived reprieve. “Temperatures are expected to gradually warm again into next week, above 100 for most areas by Monday. Heat Advisories could return for portions of the area by Tuesday, and the heat is expected to continue to build towards the end of next week.”

Taylor Texas Weather Network’s climate data shows the city had eight consecutive days of 100-degree weather July 6-13. Highs each day ranged from 100.8 to 106.8 degrees. When comparing with

When comparing with Taylor’s recent years’ data, July 10’s peak temperature, 106.8 degrees, is the hottest temperature recorded since July 23, 2018, when the city reached 107.3 degrees. This year’s eight-day 100-degree streak nearly tied Taylor’s nine-day streak in July 2019. Of 104-degree and above temperatures, this year ties 2011 with five consecutive days that high, the most in recent years.

This week, Taylor is expected to start with highs of 99 degrees Sunday and Monday, July 17-18. Winds should be from the south or southeast 5-10 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Triple digits return to the forecast Tuesday through Thursday, July 19-21, with highs of 100-102 degrees. Meanwhile, lows should be in the mid to upper 70s.

As for rain, no chance was projected this week as Taylor is expected to have sunny skies. An isolated storm popped up July 11 that even prompted a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the city. More showers were in the area July 14. No rain was officially recorded in Taylor either day, according to the Taylor Texas Weather Network.
