Area water restrictions issued

Area water supply corporations or districts have issued water restrictions for residents. Granger Lake Voluntary restrictions have been imposed on customers affected by the Stage 1 Drought Watch issued at Granger Lake.

Granger Lake

Voluntary restrictions have been imposed on customers affected by the Stage 1 Drought Watch issued at Granger Lake. The restrictions affect Taylor, Jonah Water Special Utility District (SUD), East Williamson County Regional Water Supply System, and Lone Star Regional Water Authority.

Hutto

As of Friday, July 15, Hutto has moved to Stage 2 water conservation rules in order to maintain adequate water service. Effective immediately and until further notice, all Hutto water customers need to shift to Stage 2 regarding the times of day and days of the week that they water outdoors. This applies to residential, commercial, industrial and institutional customers.

Restrictions are as follows:

• Sundays and Thursdays — Customers with addresses ending in an even number can water outdoors and conduct other high water-use activities, such as car washing and filling pools;

• Saturdays and Wednesdays — Customers with addresses ending in an odd number can water outdoors and conduct other high water-use activities; and

• Between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., there is to be no outdoor watering for Hutto water customers. Outdoor watering should take place between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.

Jonah Water SUD

In addition to affects from Granger Lake’s status, Jonah Water SUD is implementing compulsory Stage 2 water restrictions.

Jonah Water SUD is mostly located northwest of Hutto but also mostly surrounds Granger. Outdoor watering schedules mostly mirror Hutto with some variation.

Manville WSC

Manville Water Supply Corporation (WSC) has had mandatory water restrictions since June. The company covers much of residential land south of Taylor.

Customers with addresses ending in an even number can water outdoors and conduct other high water-use activities on Sunday and Thursday. Oddnumbered addresses can do the same on Wednesday and Saturday. Commercial and muti-family properties are restricted to Tuesday and Friday.

No irrigation systems or hose-end sprinklers are allowed between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Hand watering is allowed anytime.

Southwest Milam WSC

Area east of Taylor, north of Thrall and along the eastern edge of Williamson County is served by Southwest Milam WSC. A special called meeting July 18 by its board of directors is scheduled to include discussion on a drought contingency plan.
