Rodeo starts Thursday

Rodeo action and live music will fill the Williamson County Expo Center for the rest of the week. The 72nd Annual Taylor Rodeo will be Thursday through Saturday, July 14-16, at the Expo Center, 5350 Bill Pickett Trail in Taylor.

The 72nd Annual Taylor Rodeo will be Thursday through Saturday, July 14-16, at the Expo Center, 5350 Bill Pickett Trail in Taylor. The event is hosted by the Taylor Rodeo Association.

Competitive events are co-sanctioned by the Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association and United Professional Rodeo Association. There’s a $35,000 prize purse with buckles going to event champions.

Gates open each night at 5:30 p.m. Live action begins at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for people ages 13 and older are $20 Thursday, $25 Friday and $28 Saturday. Tickets for children ages 7-12 are $15 Thursday, $20 Friday and $23 Saturday. Children ages 7 and under get free admission. Parking is $10 each night.

Tickets can be purchased online or in town at the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce, 1519 N. Main St.; Eagle Bank, 106 Carlos G. Parker Blvd. NW.; and Randig Insurance, 1900 N Main St.

All proceeds from the event go to provide scholarships to graduates in local communities.
