Tomasa Yannis, 67, of Taylor, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 7, 1955, in Taylor, to Jovita Flores and Santos Yannis.
She grew up with three sisters and one brother, Bessie Yannis, Guadalupe Yannis, Susie Martinez and Jimmy Yannis.
Tomasa’s joy came from her family. She had three boys, Joel, Gabe and Juan Carlos; and three girls, Trisha, Gracy and Duvelsa. She also loved to spend time with her 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Tomasa was known by her friends as “Tommy” and also known for being a hard-working woman. She enjoyed helping people and could always put a smile on your face.
She always put her family first and loved to spend time with her family cooking, listening to music and reminiscing on the past.
Tomasa was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Guadalupe Yannis and Susie Martinez.
Tomasa’s smile and loving heart will be greatly missed by allher family and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m. at Providence Funeral, 807 Carlos Parker Blvd. in Taylor.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 111 W. Rio Grande in Taylor. Burial will follow at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
Serving as pall bearers are Jaymin Arredondo, JoGabriel Arredondo, Aaron Carreno, Ke’Zian Simien, Ernest Martinez and Adrian Castillo.
