The heat will likely get worse on Sunday.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued another Heat Advisory for Taylor and Williamson County from Saturday, July 9, until 1 p.m. July 10, after which time an Excessive Heat Warning will take effect until 8 p.m.
"A Heat Advisory is in effect this weekend for parts of the Hill Country, I-35 Corridor, Coastal Plains and the Winter Garden region. Temperatures will reach up to 107 degrees and heat indices could reach as high as 110 in isolated locations," said the NWS Austin/San Antonio Office. "Sunday and Monday (July 11) are expected to be the hottest days. If spending time outdoors drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning. Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle and check up on elderly."
Highs are forecast to dip back into the upper 90s on Wednesday, July 13, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
