An early morning wreck occurred at the Granger Housing Authority, located at 500 North Commerce Street and S.H. 95, on Sunday, July 3.
A driver heading north on Commerce Street reportedly fell asleep at the wheel causing the vehicle to collide with a pole. It was snapped in two and brought internet and electrical wires down with it, along with a streetlight.
After hitting the pole, the vehicle ricocheted into a parked car. Both vehicles suffered damage. Fortunately, no one was hurt in this incident.
Granger Volunteer Fire Department was first on the scene. Oncor was called out to replace the pole and secure the live wires. The local internet provider had not restrung the cable as of July 5. Be aware of low lying cables in the area.
