The back-and-forth days of warm and cold weather will pause this week in favor of the latter.
The Taylor Texas Weather Network predicts highs in the 50s for at least the first half of this week. Lows should stay above freezing but still dip into the 30s.
“Well below normal temperatures will prevail for the next several days with the exception of near normal temperatures on Tuesday (Jan. 25),” said the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio Office. “Fair skies will prevail with the excep tion of late Sunday night (Jan. 23) into Monday (Jan. 24) when an upper level disturbance passes overhead to bring good chances of showers.”
Monday has a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be 54 degrees and low around 40 degrees.
Temperatures will continue to go down through Wednesday, Jan. 26, which has a high of 50 degrees and low of 33 degrees. On Thursday, Jan. 27, the forecast calls for a high in the mid 50s and low around 35 degrees.
The cold weather will still be warmer than last week’s winter weather that invaded Central Texas. No measurable precipitation fell in Taylor. However, Taylor recorded low temperatures of 29 and 21 degrees last Thursday and Friday, Jan. 20-21. On Jan. 19, the high temperature in Taylor was 80 degrees.
