Fire claims local home

A Thursday fire destroyed a home near the northern edge of Taylor. On June 30, the Taylor Fire Department and others responded to a fire at 11 a.m.

A Thursday fire destroyed a home near the northern edge of Taylor.

On June 30, the Taylor Fire Department and others responded to a fire at 11 a.m. in the 6100 block of North Main Street and S.H. 95.

“The single-family (building) had large fire involvement presenting defensive fire conditions upon arrival,” said Assistant Fire Chief Robert Copeland. “The house is considered a total loss from the widespread fire involvement.”

No injuries were reported from the blaze. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Taylor firefighters were assisted by fire departments from Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville and Hutto.
