Back on May 8, a request for quotation for professional services for the inventory and assessment of citymaintained streets was issued by the Hutto City Council. Responses were due on June 1 at 3 p.m.
Three responses were received and ranked according to the scoring criteria described within the RFQ. The top ranked firm was Roadway Asset Services (RAS) and the second ranked firm was Applied Research Associates (ARA).
At the June 16 city council meeting, the council approved the selection of RAS and authorized the city manager to negotiate and execute a professional services agreement.
Approximately 148 center lane miles of citymaintained roadways will be assessed in order to develop a Roadway Pavement Assessment and Management Plan for the city. For each roadway studied, the plan will include a pavement condition index score, five-year project maintenance scope, and budget.
The plan will prioritize and rank roadway rehabilitation and maintenance projects based on roadway class, available roadway maintenance funds, and remaining life. The consultant will assist the city in the development of a fiveyear pavement capital improvement plan and implementation of a software program to plan and budget for roadway maintenance projects. Possible additional services may include evaluation of sidewalks, ramps, sidewalk gaps and regulatory traffic sign inventory.
The FY 2022 budget includes $150,000 for pavement condition assessment survey and development of fiveyear pavement management plan.
