The Taylor Lions Club will host its annual chili supper this month.
The event will be held on Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Taylor SPJST Hall, located at 5025 FM 619. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. and continue to 7 p.m. The event will be drivethru only. Tickets are available for a $10 donation. A limited number of additional tickets will be available at the door. To get tickets, ask any Lion or call 512-413-0256.
This past January, Taylor Lions prepared for 750 servings and sold out by 5:30 p.m. The Lions will prepare for a thousand servings at the upcoming event
Lions say that they strive to produce a high quality meal. They will sear and stew over 500 pounds of beef chili meat on the same day that it is processed by the butcher. Each meal includes chili, crackers and a dessert.
In addition to the chili supper, Lions are currently recruiting annual sponsors. If you have been contacted, please respond. If not, feel free to contact the Lions and ask for a sponsorship form. Sponsorships before Jan. 13 will receive publicity at all Lions Club events throughout next year.
About Taylor Lions
The Taylor Lions Club is a charitable service organization and part of Lions Clubs International. They meet at noon on Fridays at Sirloin Stockade. Lions are always looking for ways to better serve the community – especially involving youth, vision, physical disabilities, diabetes and hunger initiatives.
“If you share a desire to help those within the community and beyond,” said Shane Polach, Taylor Lions Club president, “contact a local Lion about membership or sponsorship.”
