Castlewood infrastructure ready

One of Taylor’s upcoming subdivisions appears ready for the next step.

On Thursday, June 23, the Taylor City Council will consider acceptance of a subdivision infrastructure for Castlewood’s firs phase. City staff have recommended acceptance.

Castlewood is a planned neighborhood on FM 973 in southeast Taylor near Taylor High School and the Avery Glen subdivision. The development of 242 lots amid 58 acres with a mix of townhouses, duplexes and single-family detached homes.

In the process for a subdivision to open in Taylor, the infrastructure construction segment includes the city’s acceptance that the infrastructure has met minimum requirements and passed all inspections. The Castlewood Subdivision Phase I has reportedly passed inspections and provided required acceptance documentation per the city’s ordinances.

In other business, the council is scheduled to issue a Taylor PRIDE proclamation and recognize LEAD Taylor graduates and YMCA lifeguards. There will also be an executive session on a subject relating to Samsung.

The council meeting is at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 400 Porter St., in the council chamber. Those wishing to address the council have a three-minute limit and must sign up by 5:45 p.m.
