Hutto police recently closed in on a felony drug suspect after several months of investigation and evidence gathered in collaboration with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Hutto officers executed a search warrant Dec. 29, at a residence in Hutto with sheriff’s office assistance, and seized 186 grams of methamphetamine, 36 pounds of marijuana, 21 THC cartridges (THC is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis), THC wax and more than $50,000.

An Hutto man was arrested and charged with second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance and 3rd degree felony possession of mari juana. No additional charges are expected. Hutto Interim

Hutto Interim Police Chief Jim Stuart praised the skilled work of Hutto and Williamson County detectives, along with community support.

“Time and time again, the Hutto community has shown itself to be a partner to law enforcement,” Stuart said. “Information from the public provided to the Crime Stoppers tip-line proved invaluable in developing this case. As long as residents and police continue to work closely like this, together we will keep Williamson County safe and strong.”

The city of Hutto would like to remind the public that they may submit crime tips, anonymous or otherwise, by calling the police at 512-759-5978 or by email at [email protected].
