I‘d like to share words of wisdom that Carolyn Hill shared with me.
Take out your calendar and add your entire to-do list. Write every little thing in there, even if it’s taking the kids out for ice cream. Your kids are important. Take some time for yourself. You are important. Mark it on your calendar, make time for you. If you don’t, there will be no time for yourself and the little things that also matter will be pushed on another day.
Once you filled your calendar, always refer to it when someone asks for your time. If you have already something scheduled, tell that person you are not available. They will find another person or wait.
It is okay to not always be available. The sun will still come up tomorrow. If you don’t value your time, others won’t. Either you run your day, or the day runs you.
