On Friday, June 3, Taylor ISD announced the selection of the principals for Main Street Intermediate School, Naomi Pasemann Elementary School and Taylor High School. Superintendent Devin Padavil expressed excitement at the new choices.

Matthew Wamble succeeds Andrew Maddox as Taylor High School’s principal. Wamble has been a high school athletic director, high school assistant principal and last served as principal of Burton High School.

Taylor ISD officials say he demonstrated an ability to focus on academic growth while providing a positive and well-managed school culture. Wamble also reportedly shares that schools should be a place where students create lasting memories of positive relationships and enjoyable experiences.

“The staff and students at Taylor High School told us they hoped we would find a leader that is visible in classrooms, has clear expectations, relates to students, and holds everyone to the same level of accountability,” said Padavil. “Through a rigorous interview process, it was very clear that Mr. Wamble is that leader.”

Kerri Pierce was selected as the next principal of Main Street Intermediate. Her experience and ability to provide academic and structured leadership reportedly made her stand out from other candidates.

“We are very excited to have Ms. Pierce join Taylor ISD,” said Padavil. “Her strong leadership record and ability to improve academics will help us transition Main Street Intermediate to a full elementary school over the next two years.”

Pierce comes from east Texas after serving as principal of another intermediate school, associate principal of a high school, and a director of curriculum.

“Supporting teachers, students and parents is the utmost priority for me,” said Pierce, “and I believe my primary role is to create an environment that will grow our students and staff so they can reach their full potential.”

NPE

Felicia Gibson will be Naomi Pasemann’s next principal. Gibson leaves her former position as a Kenedy ISD principal and reportedly demonstrated an emphasis on building a positive school culture for students and staff while improving academics.

“I am very excited to see how Felicia will build on the proud tradition of Naomi Pasemann by supporting staff and helping each student grow as learners and people,” said Padavil.

In her welcome letter, Gibson she welcomed the opportunity to work side by side with the students, staff, and families of NPE.

“As your future leader of Pasemann, I want to know my students, staff, and parents; support their growth, applaud their achievements, and take interest in them as individuals,” added Gibson.
