An area heat advisory will be in effect as Taylor braces first the first triple-digit temperatures of the year.
On Sunday, June 5, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued an advance Heat Advisory for Williamson County for Monday, June 6, from 1 to 8 p.m. The advisory extends throughout the Hill Country, southern Edwards Plateau and Rio Grande Plains.
"Remember to drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks out of the sun," reminded the NWS Austin/San Antonio Office "Never leave young children or pets unattended in vehicles."
As of Sunday, the Taylor Texas Weather Network forecast temperatures over 100 degrees several days this week. Dry conditions will likely persist with no rain projected through at least the first half of the week.
“Record high temperatures could be challenged and/or broken at our climate sites Monday and Tuesday (June 7) and potentially on Friday (June 10) as well,” said the National Weather Service Austin/ San Antonio Office. “Temperatures should be slightly lower Wednesday and Thursday (June 8-9) but still above normal for early June.”
Temperatures on Sunday, June 5, should still remain in double digits with a high of 98. Monday is forecast to reach 103 degrees inch higher Tuesday to 104. Wednesday and Thursday's highs are forecast at 99 degrees, but temps of 101 are expected Friday and Saturday, June 11.
Meanwhile, nights are expected to have temperatures in the mid to upper 70s through Saturday.
