“We have bought about $800 worth of items for the kids,” said Shane Allen, Crossroads pastor, “but there are more items to purchase and we are out of funds for the project.

A future time will be scheduled to deliver the items. Approximately $600 worth of items remain to be purchased.

“I had read that special needs children were a very underserved community and thought this is a great opportunity for our church to minister to this underserved group in our own community. Seeing that the Bible says, ‘Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world,’” said Allen. “God has a heart for those that are afflicted and the church should as well. Although these children are not fatherless, I just feel that the Lord would be pleased with us ministering to these children.”
