If you consider yourself a friend of your local library, there’s a group that might interest you
The Friends of the Taylor Public Library organization met this past Tuesday, May 24. The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at noon in the library’s board room at 801 Vance St. in Taylor.
As stated on the city’s municipal website, the Friends of the Library provide a vital role in summer activities at the Taylor Public Library. Every year, the Friends solicit sponsorships from local businesses to pay for performers and entertainers for the Summer Reading Program. Money raised through the Friends also pays for reading incentives and awards for children involved in summer programs at the library. Friends support the Library’s collection by assisting with book purchases.
All folks interested in the Library are encouraged to become Friends members and become involved in their efforts.
