Learn about leader dogs for blind

At noon on Friday, May 27, the Taylor Lions Club will host the Texas District 2S-3 Leader Dog chairperson, Lion Greg Dew, at Sirloin Stockade, 3607 N. Main St.

At noon on Friday, May 27, the Taylor Lions Club will host the Texas District 2S-3 Leader Dog chairperson, Lion Greg Dew, at Sirloin Stockade, 3607 N. Main St. in Taylor.

Dew will provide an update on the status of the International Leader Dog Program. He is also a leader dog puppy trainer and might bring a guest puppy.

With the urging of Hellen Keller to become “Knights for the Blind,”, Lions Clubs International founded “Leader Dogs for the Blind” in 1939. Lions have been dedicated ambassadors and loyal supporters of this mission since that time. The Taylor Lions Club has donated

The Taylor Lions Club has donated over $100,000 to this program in the past 22 years. They constantly look for people in the Taylor area who could benefit from leader dog services. The club offers assistance to clients and communicates information about this and other sight-related programs throughout the area.

Anybody who is interested in this program or who might know somebody in need of Leader Dog services is invited to join the Lions on May 27.
