Richard Phillip Pfeil, 85, of Taylor, passed away May 6.
Richard was born May 14, 1936, in Taylor to Robert and Leona Pfeil.
He lived his entire life in Taylor and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1955. He married his beloved wife Fay, of Bastrop, July 27, 1955. They were married for 66 years.
Richard was a railroad conductor for MoPac and Amtrack for 25 years. He was a Mason, a Shriner, and a founding member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Elane Gamble; and adopted sister, Roxann MacCauley.
Richard is survived by his wife, Fay; daughter, Vicki Milam; son, Rick Pfeil; and grandchildren, Kimberli Sims, Ashley Mangone, Adrian Lee and Avery Pfeil; as well as great grandchildren Freya Sims, Brynlee and Ryker Mangone.
A visitation for Richard was held Friday, May 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor.
A funeral service was held Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m. at Memorial Baptist in Taylor. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery. The Masonic Lodge acted as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you consider joining his potluck celebration after the services. One of Richard’s favorite events was a church potluck dinner, and it feels appropriate to celebrate his life with a potluck event.
