A former Taylor resident who went on to have a long career in the military as a chaplain will return to speak to the community.
Chaplain Richmond E. Stoglin will be this month’s guest speaker for the East Williamson County Republicans May 19 at 6 p.m. at Sirloin Stockade in Taylor. The meeting is open to the public and anyone of political party.
Stoglin served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserve Chaplain Corps from 1985 to 2013. He has attained the rank of commander and was a former regimental chaplain to the 14th Marines, the largest artillery command in the U.S. Marine Corps. Stoglin served as the command chaplain of the NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan and the Combined Security Training Command-Afghanistan, which consisted of U.S. troops and coalition troops from 38 nations.
He’s now president of the Stoglin Group, which specializes in consulting organizations, corporations and nonprofits with mediation, family mediation, workplace ethics, strategic planning, leadership development, public policy and law enforcement counseling. He is also president of the Frederick Douglas Republicans of Tarrant County.
